ILÉ ORÍ — THE SACRED HOUSE OF ORÍ
ILÉ ORÍ — THE SACRED HOUSE OF ORÍ
Orí means “head,” but in Yorùbá spirituality it represents much more than the physical head. Orí is understood as the inner spiritual essence, consciousness, intuition, and personal destiny that guides each individual through life.
Orí is regarded as our intimate connection with Olódùmarè, the Creator. In traditional teachings, each person comes from Ọ̀run to Ilẹ̀ Ayé with a unique Orí and destiny. Ọ̀bàtálá is traditionally associated with the molding of the human form and head, with each person receiving a distinct Orí.
Because Orí is central to one’s life journey, it is traditionally honored, consulted, and cared for. Feeding and appeasing Orí is a sacred practice through which a person seeks alignment, clarity, balance, good character, and the positive manifestation of destiny.
THE ILÉ ORÍ POT
The Ilé Orí pot is a sacred representation associated with the personal Orí. It serves as a vessel through which practitioners may honor, nurture, and maintain a spiritual relationship with their Orí according to their lineage and tradition.
Orí worship can include daily prayers, reverence, reflection, character development, and traditional rituals performed by qualified practitioners. Caring for Orí is understood as caring for the spiritual foundation of one’s life.
ILÉ ORÍ — HONOR YOUR ORÍ. NURTURE YOUR DESTINY. WALK IN ALIGNMENT WITH YOUR DIVINE INNER ESSENCE.
